We give below details of annual events, such as the Lisbon Book Fair – Feira do Livro, (foto above), and others in the Estoril Coast and Lisbon that are planned for the coming year 2026 as we get the information.    

• NEW YEAR’S EVE – FIREWORKS: 
  Fireworks take place in Estoril and Cascais at midnight, lighting the skies to greet in the New Year.  There are concerts to the countdown and fireworks in Cascais Bay.  In Lisboa they are at the Praça do Comercio.  Please see the programme available at the time in hotel receptions.

• MILLENNIUM ESTORIL OPEN 2026 – TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP ATP Tour: 18th  to 26th July 2026:

• COALA FESTIVAL CASCAIS: 30th and 31s May 2026:

• BOOK FAIR LISBON 2025 – FEIRA DO LIVRO DE LISBOA:  Parque Eduardo VII. 95th Edition – 4th to 22nd June 2025

  

  The Book Fair in 2024 above. Publishers and bookshops sell books at special prices. Events include book signings, entertainment, street food.  Located in Lisboa’s Parque Eduardo VII. • ST ANTHONY’S FEAST DAY – Every Year on 13th June:  
  LISBOA celebrates the festival of this Saint on 13th June. On the eve of the 13th groups representing each  borough parade down Lisboa’s Avenida da Liberdade in colourful costumes. One group is chosen as the winner for having the best dance and costumes. 

  
  In CASCAIS from 7th to 13th June 2025 St Anthony is also celebrated and events are organised by the Cascais Municipal Council.  On 13th June 2025 the St Anthony Procession will take place from 3pm at the Cidadela de Cascais. At the Hipódromo Manuel Possolo events take place during this week from 6pm to 1am with concerts starting at 10pm.   Please see our article  Spirit of Santo Antonio  
  
  

• FESTIVAL DE SINTRA 12th – 22nd June 2025 – SINTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL: 
  This 59th annual festival will take place from 12th to 22nd June 2025 in the Sintra borough.   

• 37th INTERNATIONAL LUSITANO HORSE FESTIVAL, 2026: CASCAIS, 26th to 28th June 2026 (Festival Internacional do Cavalo Lusitano) at the Hipódromo Manuel Possolo, Cascais.

• ESTORIL HANDICRAFT FAIR 2025 – FIARTIL.  60th Edition: 
  27th June to 24th August 2025.  (Short video here)
  

  

  Open in the summer from 5pm to 11pm.  Foto of stall selling morello cherry liqueur (Ginjinha) from Obidos, chocolates, honey.  Located behind the Estoril Casino. Stalls from the regions and local artisans sell handicrafts, liqueurs, honey, clothing. Restaurants serve meals and snacks. Concerts and folk dances take place in the late evening. Av. Amaral, Estoril.
    

• MIRPURI FOUNDATION SAILING TROPHY 2025, 6TH YEAR:

• AGEAS COOL JAZZ FESTIVAL CASCAIS:  1st to 31st July 2026:  
  The AGEAS Cool Jazz Festival in Cascais in 2026 will take place from 1st to 31st July.  One of the main annual events in Cascais.

• NOS ALIVE 9, 10, 11 July 2026:

  This will take place on 9th, 10th, 11th July 2026 at the Passeio Maritima de Algés.  An annual event with musicians playing rock, heavy metal, indie rock, etc.  Details at: https://nosalive.com    

• FESTIVAL OF THE SEA  2026, FESTAS DO MAR, CASCAIS – 20th to 23rd August and 27th to 30th August 2026:  

  

  Cascais celebrates its traditional ties with the sea with this being one of its annual events. It includes a procession on the last day at 3pm, (short video of procession here) and a parade of fishermen’s boats. You will find stalls selling street food in Cascais centre. Concerts  take place in Cascais Bay in the evenings.   
  

• LUMINA – 2025 FESTIVAL OF LIGHT CASCAIS, 8th Edition: 12th to 14th September 2025:

  Monuments and buildings in Cascais centre will be lighted up on these 3 days as we celebrate this festival with creative light impressions. Produced by OCUBO.   
  
  

• CHEF’S ON FIRE, 7th Edition – CASCAIS: 19th and 20th September 2026:
