DAVID LEVY LIMA – artist:
In a small studio/gallery in São Pedro do Estoril you will find David Levy Lima working on his paintings. A very talented artist, he is a well-known oil and acrylic painter in the Lisbon Cascais area as well as abroad. He arrived in Portugal from Cape Verde in the 1960s to complete his studies but started selling his paintings and continued to paint from then on. He comes from a family of artists and his two brothers Abraham and Miguel are also painters.
For more than 50 years he has worked from his studio/gallery in São Pedro do Estoril. He has participated in many exhibitions in Portugal including the Casino Estoril as well as internationally and in his native Cabo Verde.
He has also won awards for his work. His beautiful paintings include landscapes, seascapes, boats and people of Lisbon, Cascais, Sintra, Cabo Verde as well as figures and still life. His paintings are of rich bold colours and he is a favourite painter of ours for many years.
The gallery/studio at Av. Marginal, Lote 4, Loja A, São Pedro do Estoril, 2765-524 Estoril (a short walk from S. Pedro do Estoril train station) is open daily from 10.30am to 8pm where visitors are welcome to view and purchase his paintings. Tel: +351-919227402.
CERAMICARTE – LUIS SOARES – Cascais:
This art/ceramic shop of Portuguese artist Luis Soares CERAMICARTE is located in the Largo de Assunção, 3 & 4, in Cascais, near the Museum of the Sea.
Born in Mozambique in 1952 Luis Soares has an extensive and impressive list of works and exhibitions in many countries including the USA, Australia, Switzerland, France, South Africa, Mozambique, UK and of course Portugal including at the Estoril Casino. Mozambique was an influence on his work but he also developed new techniques when he studied and worked in Portugal.
You can find the bold colourful paintings, ceramics, pottery, tiles, sculpture, glass, jewellery and other items by Luis Soares at this shop in Cascais run by his son Hugo Soares, also an artist.

CENTRO CULTURAL DE CASCAIS:

CALOUSTE GULBENKIAN MUSEUM:
The Calouste Gulbenkian Museum shows a varied selection of artwork collected by Calouste Gulbenkian (1869-1955). From Ancient Egypt, Islamic art to parchments from Armenia this is one of the important art galleries with exhibitions in Lisbon.
The European art comes from the Masters: Turner, Monet, Rubens, Rembrandt, Renoir amongst others. You can also see porcelain from China, as well as sculpture, furniture, rugs, and ancient manuscripts.
René Lalique has an exclusive small room dedicated to his jewellery and glass work.

CASINO ESTORIL ART GALLERY:

The Casino Estoril Art Gallery has exhibitions throughout the year. This is one of the main art galleries with exhibitions in Estoril.
EXHIBITION AT THE CASINO ESTORIL ART GALLERY:
The 38th Autumn Exhibition with 24 artists participating with paintings and sculptures is open at the Casino Estoril Art Gallery upto 5th January 2025. Painters include Branislav Mihajlovic, Cohen Fusé, Diogo Navarro, Gustavo Fernandes, Maramgoni, Nadir Afonso, Paulo Ossião and Rui Carruço. Sculptures are by Abílio Febra, João Sotero, Rogério Timóteo and Thierry Ferreira amongst others. These artists are regular exhibitors at this gallery.
