Below are some beaches and markets in the Estoril Coast.

BEACHES & MARKETS IN THE ESTORIL COAST

For lovers of sun, sand and sea the Estoril Coast has several beaches and a promenade with some cafes and restaurants where you can break your walk for a drink or meal.

There are also beaches and markets in Oeiras, Algés, Ericeira, Almoçagem.

Guincho Beach in Cascais has vast sands.  The sea has strong currents and waves making it a popular surfing venue.

Carcavelos, with its large stretch of sand, and Parede are known for their therapeutic properties.  São João, Estoril Tamariz, Monte Estoril and Cascais  have small beaches on the line. In the Oeiras Borough there is the Torre beach, the Santo Amaro beach and one at Paço de Arcos.

    The vegetable market is open on Wednesday and Saturday. 7am to 2pm.

    Seating area above where you can enjoy your drink and food bought at the stalls behind.

  • The Cascais Wednesday Market, below, sells shoes, clothing, kitchen utensils, pottery, etc. Open 7am to 2pm, just outside the vegetable market. Located in Cascais centre.

  • ANTIQUE MARKET – Jardim Visconde da Luz: Wednesdays.
  • ADROANA MARKET: 1st and 3rd Sunday of month: 8am to 6pm.
  • HANDICRAFT MARKET – Jardim Visconde da Luz: Saturdays: 9am to 8pm.
  • MARKET OF BIOLOGICAL VEGETABLES & FRUIT: Parque Marechal Carmona. Saturdays:  9am to 2pm.
  • BOCA DO INFERNO:

    There are fixed stalls at the Boca de Inferno, Cascais, selling local handicrafts, ceramic items, hand woven clothing.  Open daily.

  • CARCAVELOS:
    Every Thursday and 2nd Sunday of the month: 9am to 3pm. Beyond the Carcavelos train station.
  • ANTIQUES FAIRS:
    In Monte Estoril at the Jardim Carlos Anjos the Antiques fair takes place (also known as Jardim dos Passarinhos), foto below.

  • Every Friday there is market at the Cascais Visconde da Luz gardens.
  • On the third Sunday of the month, Municipal Garden of Paço de Arcos, 9am to 6pm.  Items from crockery, silverware, furniture, clothes, jewellery, etc.
  • On the first Sundays of the month there is a market in the Oeiras Municipal Garden, 9am-6pm.

    Tuesdays and Saturdays at Campo de Santa Clara is the Feira da Ladra. Antiques, clothes, pottery,  anything goes at the Feira da Ladra.

  • MERCADO DA RIBEIRA TIME OUT MARKET:
    This market was re-done to hold stalls selling wines, cheese and a food court including some by local chefs. Next door is the traditional vegetable market.

    There are various food stalls including of famous TV Chefs and others.  The Time-Out Food-Court is a very popular meeting place.

  • MERCADO DO CAMPO OURIQUE:
    This market was founded in 1934. Food stalls serve snacks and meals. Rua Coelho da Rocha. Open Sunday to Wednesday from 7am to 11pm and Thursday to Saturday 7am to 1am.
