Organised by the Cascais Jazz Club The Curt Wilson Alumni Big Band entertained the audience with great music from the big band days. For an hour Curt Wilson and his band entertained us with non-stop jazz and big band music. The band get together every few years as Mr Wilson’s band comprise, as the name implies, his former students. All are professionals working in other fields such as doctors, dentists, Vice-presidents of corporations. When we asked him if they got together often Mr Wilson’s reply was that they only had a few days to rehearse as they all live in different states in the US from Texas and Chicago to Boston and have other jobs. The result however was a superb evening of nostalgic and memorable music of jazz and big band.
