There are many types of restaurants in Cascais serving different cuisines scattered around the borough. We highlight below a selection of restaurants that serve good traditional Portuguese dishes.  Fish and shellfish abound given our coastal location.  Please note some restaurants only accept payment in cash (Euros).

• LOTA DA ESQUINA:

• TABERNA ECONOMICA DE CASCAIS:
  One of the oldest restaurants in Cascais opened in 1967.  Small but also has tables outside.  Good traditional Portuguese food. Above right ‘arroz de gambas’ (rice with prawns). Open daily. • MARIA PIMENTA CASCAIS FOOD COURT:
  Serves buffet lunch daily from 12noon and dinner. Portuguese dishes with various starters, salads, vegetables, hot main dishes, desserts, all for a fixed price. Located at the rooftop of the Auchan Supermarket in Cascais centre at Av. da Sintra.

• JARDIM DOS FRANGOS CASCAIS:
  A popular and busy restaurant in Cascais this restaurant specialises in chicken BBQ, grilled, as well as other Portuguese dishes. Moderately priced. Left, a generous portion of half a chicken with chips for one. • FOGO DO CHÃO:

• PONTO VERDE:

There are quiosques that serve drinks, coffee, snacks and some serve meals. The esplanadas are the outdoor seating areas of  restaurants and cafes. Please note that some of these along the beach promenade tend to close during the winter months.
