Sailing in Estoril Portugal is a popular sport. Cascais has a Club that holds competitions and trains the young how to sail.  With a considerable coastline and as a sea-faring nation Portugal offers great opportunities for sailing for both small and large sail boats. Dolphin Watching off the Cascais Coast:

The day was perfect for dolphin watching along the Cascais Coast.  The sea was calm, there was not much wind. The 2 hour trip with our hosts Xavier and Diogo from Four Adventures Boat Tours went by quickly with lots of sightings of the dolphins.  The young ones were having fun practicing their jumps and dives whilst the larger ones kept their distance. Some accompanied our boat and we could see them through the clear waters as they swam from one side to the other.

Our tour ended with a sail near the land as we saw the main Cascais attractions the Guia Lighthouse, Boca do Inferno, and the Santa Marta Lighthouse before arriving back at the Cascais Marina.  A fun way to spend a day out to see these beautiful creatures.
