Cascais Beer, Snacks & Tapas Festival: 24 – 27 September 2015

There will be national and international beers, craft beers and handicrafts as well as live music at night at the Mercado da Vila (Cascais Market). Various breweries will be present such as Agualusa Cascais Brewery, Dois Corvos, Oitava Colina, Rolls Beer etc. Snacks include pork on skewers, cheese from the Alentejo and Sabugeiro cured ham. For the workshops and tasting it is necessary to book in advance. Open from 10am to midnight.

Cascais Light Festival 2015: LUMINA 11 – 13 September

The LUMINA 2015 Light Festival organised by OCUBO will take place in Cascais from 11 to 13 September.  The theme of this 4th edition is Four Seasons of Light and more than 40 artists from 15 countries such as Australia, USA, Turkey and Spain will take part. This will include multimédia installations, vídeo projections and interactive sculptures as well as worskhops. Held in gardens, the beach, Cidadela, Cascais Bay and corners of the town all are invited to watch this display of great art. 2015 celebrates the UNESCO International Year of Light. Cascais Festival of the Sea 2015 Festas do Mar: 21 to 30 August

Cascais celebrates its relationship with the sea every year by holding a procession (30th at 3pm) and concerts in the Cascais Bay.  This year the Cascais Council has invited Portuguese bands and singers such as Trovante, Pedro Abrunhosa, Ana Moura, Paulo Gonzo, The Gift amongst others – concerts being 8.30pm.  The festivities close on 30th August with music from Sinfonica de Cascais followed with fireworks.

Estoril Handicraft Fair 2015: from 25 June to 8 September

The FIARTIL – Feira de Artesanato do Estoril will be open from 6pm to midnight.  Producers and artisans from different regions of the country as well as some from abroad will be exhibiting and selling products including tiles, honey, embroidered linen. There are also restaurants where you can dine in the open air, taste traditional bread with sausage (pao com chouriço) and caldo verde (kale soup) or watch the entertainment of folk dances as well as concerts by Portuguese singers.

Cascais Market 2015 Cake Design & Sweets Festival: 1 – 3 May

The Cake Design and Sweet Festival (Mercado Doçaria Conventual e Cake Design) will take place on 1 May (4pm to 10pm); 2 May (10am to 10pm); and 3 May (10am to 8pm) at the Cascais Market.

There will be traditional Portuguese confectionery, sweets, pastries from all regions in the country as well as show cookings.

Cake Designers Rita Martinho (Friday 6pm), Marcia Santos (Sunday 11am) and Sonia Filipe (Sunday 3pm) and pastry chefs Fernando Correia (Saturday 11am), Francisco Siopa (Saturday 7pm) and Osvaldo Piuza (Sunday 5pm) will be presenting the art of cake design and making traditional sweets. There will also be concerts and other entertainment.
